isola lo scoglio... yesterday

In 1848 the islet where the hotel is situated was owned by
Baron Della Ratta. In the 1940s it was Princes’ Granito di
Belmonte summer residence.
In the 1950s it became a small guesthouse with a
restaurant and an elegant dance hall, which was a fashionable
meeting place also during the 1960s and 1970s.
In that period Mr. Giovanni Gabriele Quarta bought it
from the Ministry of Tourism, which had acquired it from the
previous owner.
Isola lo Scoglio is a cult place in the collective memory of
many generations of people living in Salento.
Today it is a unique accomodotion facility, one of the most
beautiful of the entire Salento, the ideal place for a relaxing
holiday.
The hotel is built in Mediterranean style and has 45 en-suite
rooms. The hotel has also a restaurant, a pizzeria, a park and a
private shore..
